PRAGUE: SAN DIEGO TO PRAGUE

We flew direct from San Diego to Munich and then on to Prague on Lufthansa. Our flight was as expected, on time!! Luggage arrived first on the belt which is always a good way to start a trip. We love those “Priority” tags when they work!!!  I think the business class on British Airways, which is our other alternative to getting to Europe out of San Diego is a bit more comfortable as Lufthansa does not have discrete pods. Food on BA is a bit better also. On the flip side, Munich is a much more manageable airport than Heathrow and the Lufthansa lounge in Munich is not the madhouse that the BA lounge is in Heathrow, so it’s a toss-up to what you prefer.  Lufthansa also has a more updated Airbus aircraft.

Prague is a charming city that was not bombed during WWII and hence, its buildings stand as they have been for hundreds of years. There was clearly a building boom at the end of the 19th century into the early 20th with very classical looking buildings lining the avenues. Lots of red clay tile roofs. Our hotel, the Andaz, was an old sugar bank that opened a year ago. It was a perfect hotel. Our room was spacious, the amenities clearly thought out well and we would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Prague.
